Upper Arlington.

Upper Arlington is an older, established suburb just northwest of downtown Columbus, inside the I-270 loop. The Thompson brothers founded it in 1913 as a planned garden city, and the historic Old Arlington area south of Lane Avenue still shows that design, with mature trees, wide lawns, and homes from the early 1900s. North of Lane Avenue you find ranch-style homes built after World War II. The Tremont and Northam areas put many families within walking distance of schools and parks.

Selling in Upper Arlington

Upper Arlington has its own rules.

Generic Columbus-agent treatment misses what is specific to Upper Arlington: the comp adjustments that matter on these blocks, the school-calendar timing, and the buyer pool that actually shops here. Three things every Upper Arlington seller should know before talking to any agent:

  1. 1

Much of the housing stock is older, so updated kitchens, baths, and systems tend to stand out and draw stronger offers in this market.

  2. 2

The Upper Arlington City School District is a primary reason buyers shop here, so homes near the schools and Northam Park often attract a deep pool of family buyers.

  3. 3

Lot character matters in the older sections. Mature trees, larger lots, and walkable blocks in Old Arlington can support pricing above similar square footage elsewhere.
